Vail Vision August 18, 2005

Welcome to the Vail Vision “ An E-Mail publication keeping you up-to-date with all that is happening with the Vail mission.

I NEED YOUR HELP.   Please let me know if you are not able to read this e-newsletter.   I am sending it in a format that should allow for color, graphics, and nicer-looking texts.   However, some people may not be able to read it.   If that is the case, I may have to change the format.   Please let me know your thoughts.

I want to briefly update you on current events.

At our Regular Bible Study last week we studied the parable of the Good Samaritan.   The theme was "Love your Neighbor...   But who IS your neighbor and what IS love?   The Samaritan had it right.   The Priest and the Levite blew it.     This Sunday we will discuss "Workers in the Vineyard.. (Matthew 20:1-16).

We also spent some time talking about a Name!!   Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. (Isaiah 43:1)   Yes, but Lord, we have no name....   Send your church name nominations to Joel Cmiel.   We need to focus on a name that tells people who we are and invites them in.     We will spend some time at our next Sunday night Bible Study talking about our name.

I also met with some very wonderful people this week.   On Wednesday, I met with Tricia Pena, principal of Cienega High School. The Vail School District also hosted a meeting with the local area religious leaders.   Vail School District is very accommodating to religious groups.

We have almost all of the Ministry Positions filled.   The two remaining positions are Nursery and High School Youth.   If you know of someone I should contact, let me know.

Dick Phillips is in the hospital for surgery on his foot.   We will keep Dick in our prayers.

That is it for now.   Blessings on your day.   If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me.   It is a joy to be working with all of you.
