Vail Vision December 8, 2005

It seems that at each step in our journey at Christ Lutheran Vail, God adds another piece to the puzzle and the picture gets a little clearer. It's shaping up to be a beautiful painting! It's exciting to watch how God is using our congregation to bring the joy of Jesus to Vail this Christmas season.

Greetings of Christmas Love,

Last weekend, some dear friends from Phoenix worshipped with us. It's good to reconnect with old friends. One was my teacher in grade school. The other worked with my wife, Jennifer, when she taught at Valley Lutheran High School in Phoenix. When she walked up to the high school on Sunday, she did a double-take. Polly Phillips was at the door greeting people. It turns out that this lady used to babysit for Polly Phillips children! It was fun to watch them get reconnected. This is what heaven will be like. We will be reconnecting with people and filled with joy.

Jeff Rohlwing at Christ Lutheran Vail “ Jeff Rohlwing will be joining us for worship on December 11th. He will be singing songs for the gathering and during the service. Jeff is an amazing musician. If you haven't had a chance to hear him, Sunday would be a great opportunity.

Peasall Sisters Concert “ January 1, 6:00 PM. The Grammy award winning Peasall Sisters are coming to town. Their career took off after being in the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou... They will perform a concert at Cienega High School on New Year's Day (Jan 1 at 6:00 PM). Jeff Rohlwing will open for them. If you can't make the concert at Cienega High School, they are also performing at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church on December 30th at 7:00 PM. We will have fliers on Sunday for you to hand out. The concert will be publicized on radio and print. This will be an event that you simply cannot miss.

Christmas Eve Worship Mailing “Another mailing will be conducted approximately December 15th. This will publicize our Christmas services and the upcoming Peasall Sisters concert. This will be mailed to approximately 3,000 homes in the Vail area. If you see people that you haven't met yet, introduce yourself and say "hi...

Christmas Eve Choir “ Our Christmas Eve Choir should be fun. The music is not too difficult. Randy Cochran is directing the choir. He will teach you everything you need to know. If you would like to join the Christmas Eve Choir, the rehearsals will be as follows:

December 8, 2005 - 7:00 PM at Vicar David's House
December 19, 2005 “ 7:00 PM at Vicar David's House

(Vicar David's house is 12730 E. Red Iron Trail. Two blocks north of Cienega High School)

PS. There was a practice scheduled for December 15th, but there were too many conflicts, so it has been cancelled.

Vail Pride Days “ This is sponsored each year by the Vail School District to showcase the schools and the district. The event will be Saturday, February 11th. We have signed up for a booth to hand out information about our Church. We need helpers. If you are available to helps staff the booth, please contact me.

Blessings on your day. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
