"I AM Who I AM..

This is what God said to Moses in Exodus 3:14. God had just told Moses that He was going to deliver His people from their of slavery in Egypt. Moses had asked God, "Whom shall I say sent me?.. God replies, "I AM who I AM...

I have always been fascinated by this reply. It seems awfully arrogant to me. But when you are the creator of the universe, I suppose some arrogance is probably in order. It's us humans that have problem with arrogance, not God. If you have done something exceptionally well, it is not wrong to be proud of what you have done. The problem is not boasting per se. It is in when we over-inflate our ego. It is letting our pride get in the way of our ministry here on earth. Because God does remarkable things through us. Our human nature says we should give the credit to ourselves instead of the great "I AM... But every good and perfect gift comes from God. (James 1:17). In truth we can never completely eliminate our ego, but Jesus Christ humbled himself completely and covers our sin of pride.

Each year, Fountain of Life (Our mother congregation) hosts a series of winter-visitor luncheons. On Tuesday, I was honored to share what is happening here in Vail. I told them of how the mission began, how it continued to grow through Bible study and how we are now worshiping every Sunday morning. I told them of how God has placed exactly the right people in this place to cover the various ministries. I told them how wonderful it is that Fountain of Life is committed to the mission of the church “ to go and make disciples. I shared with them how at each step of the way, "I AM.. was guiding us. Every day, I am truly amazed to see how "I AM.. leads His church.

The Youth meeting went very well last weekend. Our first official youth event is coming soon, so keep your eyes posted.

Don't forget that there is an on-line calendar for upcoming events. You can reach this link from our home page.

We continue Sunday with our next part in the sermon series on the Great "I AM.. sayings of Jesus. This week, "I AM the Vine...

Blessings on your week!
