Vail Vision November 16, 2006

Another day in God's creation...

The mission of Christ Lutheran Vail is to strengthen families through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Families are important, but what is family? My wife came across a definition that read something like this, "a group of individuals with shared values, purpose and history... That means that besides your mom, dad, brothers, sisters, cousins, and kids, there are other people that can be considered family.

By that definition, Christ Lutheran Vail is a family. We have shared values, purpose and history. Next weekend, we are going to really see what our family looks like!

Many times during the year, some schools have a "Pajama Day". My kids love it. I don't know if you have noticed, but today's pajamas almost look like regular clothes and some regular clothes look like pajamas! Because our kids are also family and we love to see our kids get excited about church, we are going to have a church "pajama day" as the next family activity. This is for any kid - or anyone who wants to be one.

Simply wear pajamas to church. Be creative. Have fun! Also bring pillows and blankets. Then, after the service, we'll all sprawl out in the band room and watch a movie. It should be great fun!

Blessings,

David Hook

PJ PICNIC AND CARTOON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH
Our 4th Sunday Family Fun Activity will be PJ Picnic with classic and new episodes of Davey & Goliath. So, wear your PJs to church and bring blankets, pillows and/or sleeping bags. FROM VAIL SCHOOL DISTRICT
(Christ Lutheran Vail received this letter and we believe that is good information!)

Dear Community Member,

It is time to take a proactive stance affecting the future of our community!

The Pima County Board of Supervisors is compiling a list of items to be funded by a proposed 2008 Bond Election. You can have an impact on how the Board of Supervisors prioritizes the projects potentially funded through the Bond election. The Vail School District Community Action Board is proposing you actively support two crucial areas to be funded through the County's 2008 bond election:

A Vail-area community center with playing fields and recreational facilities, including community swimming pool and sport fields.A Vail-area government complex, including a library and law enforcement substation At this point no locations have been identified for the above.

Please let your voice be heard! It's easy to do. Just send your comments regarding the 2008 bond election to Bondinfo@pima.gov Include in the e-mail the projects you support (hopefully, those above), your name, complete address, phone number and e-mail address, along with your comments.

Please forward this e-mail to your friends and neighbors within the Vail School District.

Thank you.
