LOOK TO THE HILLS, GOD REIGNS
This was the theme for the 33rd Biennial Convention of the LWML held in Portland, OR in June. Karen McNinch and Jill Raines attended this convention of over 3,300 women and men. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is a 67 year strong group of LCMS women who serve within their own home churches and across the globe. The MITES that the group collects are used for mission projects and the goal for 2009 to 2011 is $1,334,982.00. The Grants these support are here in the US and in many foreign countries to continue to provide Bibles, Braille Bibles, training supplies for Pastors and Missionaries, Emergency and Humanitarian aid, and more. Christ Lutheran Vail was a recipient of a district grant back in our beginning. To review a list of the grants approved, please stop by the WiM table in the back.
The Women in Mission of CLV would like to thank you for your generosity in supporting our missions here. We have collected socks, underwear, school supplies, hygiene items, canned goods, military supplies, baby and children goods for social services, used postage stamps, can tabs and much more.
Every third Sunday we supply the MUFFINS FOR MITES, so as you are enjoying your goodies and coffee, place a few cents in the clear money container and know they are being used to continue these mission projects.
