Christ Lutheran VailVolunteer Job Description
Position Title: UsherResponsible to: Head Usher
Key Objective: Work with a team of energetic people to provide a God pleasing and people appealing facility environment for worship services and special events.    
Average Time Commitment: 1 hour per worship service or specieal event  Length of Service: Rotate every other month, for a one year commitment.   Special events as needed.
Qualifications: Servant-hood attitude, and with good health.  
General Duties (Required for all volunteers): 1. Greeters:   a. Arrive at facility 30 minutes before each service.   b. Receive latest instructions, if any, from team lead.   c. Put on usher name tag.   d. Stand near the Sanctuary door.   e. Greet people as they come in with hand shakes and warm smiles.   f. Signal to seating ushers whenever a newcomer is present.2. Seating Ushers:   a. Arrive at facility 30 minutes before each service.   b. Receive latest instructions, if any, from team lead.   c. Assist greeters with the seating of newcomers and late comers.   d. Assist in the attendance counting   e.   Be prepared to answer basic questions like:             i. Direction to a phone, classrooms, restrooms and choir room.           ii. Time and place of Bible studies and group meetings.       iii.   Time and place of special events.3. Offering Ushers   a. Focus eye contacts4.   Communion Ushers   a. Holy Communion is celebrated on 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month   b. Before each service, be sure the baskets for collecting cups are placed on the table.           The basket should have a plastic liner.
