Vail Vision Volume 2 Issue 27

Mission Complete

The Space Shuttle Atlantis has arrived safely home. This was the first flight of Atlantis since the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster on February 1, 2003. Atlantis is one of three active Space Shuttles, the others are Discovery and Endeavour.

An interesting question was posed to me the other day. What are the three levels of heaven, and how do you define them? This is prompted by the Apostle Paul writing in 2 Corinthians 12:2, " I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. "

What exactly is the third heaven “ and where is it? Well, it is the throne of God. It is the place where God resides. It is where Jesus sits at Gods right hand. But it is not where the Space Shuttle Atlantis has been maneuvering over the past week. That is still part of the created heavens of God. The Astronauts didn't dwell closer to God, they just had a God's-eye view.

We thank God for bringing them home safely.

Blessings on your week,

David Hook
