Day 11 - May 17, 2012

Day 11 - May 17, 2012

The drive to Phoenix is long, but well worth it. Once a month, I meet with a group of Pastors who also have been called to start a mission congregation. About three years ago we also began to gather for a prayer retreat. The three days are unscripted and unplanned. We rest, talk, share, and let the Holy Spirit guide and direct our conversation.

And we pray. We pray for each other, for each others families and each others churches. As the presence of God fills the room I am overwhelmed by His goodness. I feel like Moses at the burning bush when God told him, “This is Holy Ground”. I feel like Peter, James and John at the mountain of Transfiguration. I don’t ever want to leave.

When we breathe our last earthly breath and come face to face with the Creator, His glory will not kill us. We will be at His mountaintop soaking in His majesty forever.

Prayer is a small foretaste of that feast to come.

Blessings,

Pastor David
