Day 2 – May 8, 2012

The Volkswagen Passat commercial was my favorite from last year’s Super Bowl. In this clever ad a young boy tries to use his Darth Vader powers on objects around the house. He ends up starting his dad’s car - but it is really his father using the remote control starter! I was reminded of this commercial when I read our Day 2 devotion. How much do we believe that we are the little boy thinking that we are in charge? It really is God!

When we first started Christ Lutheran Vail, Pastor Roland Kauth was of great assistance. He is a retired pastor who is also a member of Fountain of Life. He met with us every week and helped us as we began. One day someone asked him how the new church plant was going and he replied, “We’re just trying to keep up with God”. To start from scratch and build a church was daunting. We prayed fervently for God to guide us and He did.

As we work on this new strategic plan, please join me in even more fervently prayer that God will guide us.

Oh Abba Father. We can do nothing without Your steady hand. As we work on our new Strategic Plan may you provide wisdom and guidance. We thank you for what you have done at Christ Lutheran Vail and we wait in awe to see what You will do.

Blessings,

Pastor David
