Day 5 - May 11, 2012

RE: The Friend in the Middle,

Part of our strategic plan is recognizing that God loves people outside of our walls. We shouldn't be a Christian country club meeting only the needs of our members. Today's devotion is correct. We are the man in the middle - a mechanism that God uses to bring His Kingdom to the lost.

God loves all His humanity as Jesus said in Matthew 5:45: "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." We should pray for all of God's creation. We should pray for out community.

2 Corinthians 9:12-13, says it better. "This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else."

In other words, the Kingdom is blessed by the work we do.

In Jesus' name.
