Day 8 - May 14, 2012

RE: Work and Prayer go together.

Have you ever had a project deadline? Some of you work for corporations where deadlines rule everything. In some companies, when you get close to the deadline, everyone is encouraged to work overtime to make sure the project is completed on time. In the past, I have had such deadlines and have spent many hours late at work to meet them.

And many times that overtime was unproductive. Creativity takes a fresh mind. If you have put in a long day, you end up with a tired mind. In this condition you aren’t any good to anyone. It is better to go home and try again on another day. Be honest. Many of you have gone home in frustration only to find that the problem is easily solved the next day. In other words, not all problems can be solved by brute force and more hours.

Prayer is like that. I am a firm believer that humans work best with a healthy balance of prayer and work. I believe that with a healthy balance we are more productive and ultimately accomplish more. I am convinced that prayer was the main reason Luther was able to accomplish as much as he did.

But it takes faith. We must put our lives in God’s hands trusting that He will bless our time in prayer and make the rest of our life more efficient because if it.

Try it. It may change your life!

Blessings,

Pastor David
