Day 29 - June 4, 2012

Day 29 - June 4, 2012

What God can do with someone who is willing! Throughout the Bible we see imperfect men and women who were greatly used by God not because they were more perfect than anyone else, but because they were willing. Take Samson, for example. He was impetuous, short tempered and broke an important dietary law of the Jews along with being a womanizer. In spite of all this, God used him mightily to save Israel. God took Samson's imperfections and turned them into doing God's work.

I often become frustrated with all the things I can't do! Being effective in prayer often seems like an impossible task for someone like me. I need constant reminding that God can use me for His glory and His purposes - if I am willing to try. Just as with Samson, God takes sinful, messed-up people and saves kingdoms through them.

The little boy in today's devotion prayed for his grandmother without even half the "religious" education or self-counsciousness that I have, but he was willing. We are sons and daughters of the King and He leans down and listens to us when we are talking to Him. Even if we have only a little bit of faith, we have the King giving us the authority to do His will on earth. Let's decide today to take our little bit - like another boy who gave his few loaves and fishes - and pray.

God's Peace,
