Opening Songs

I've Got Peace Like A River

I've got peace like a river, I've got peace like a river, I've got peace like a river in my soul (two times)
I've got love like an ocean, I've got love like an ocean, I've got love like an ocean in my soul (two times)
I've got joy like a fountain, I've got joy like a fountain, I've got joy like a fountain, in my soul (two times)

Blindman

Blindman stood by the road and he cried (clap-clap) (3 times)
Oh show me the way (3 times)
The way to go home
Jesus stood by the road and he cried (clap-clap) (3 times)
saying Oh - I am the way, I am the truth, I am the light-the way to go home.

Reading

Psalm 16, 5-11

“5 You, Lord, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands. 6 How wonderful are your gifts to me; how good they are! 7 I praise the Lord, because he guides me, and in the night my conscience warns me. 8 I am always aware of the Lord's presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me. 9 And so I am thankful and glad, and I feel completely secure, 10 because you protect me from the power of death. I have served you faithfully, and you will not abandon me to the world of the dead. 11 You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.”

Song - Here I Am To Worship

Light of the world, You step down into darkness
Open my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me, my love

King of all days
So highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly you came to the earth you created
All for love's sake became poor

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
Reflection of God's Grace

Pastor: As we come to God in worship this morning, we take some time to reflect upon his grace.  This pandemic reminds us how powerless we truly are. When we realize that we are indeed powerless we become afraid.  We live in fear and do not act as Children of the King. Maybe this week we acted in selfish ways. Maybe we hoarded food and supplies taking way more than we needed.  Maybe we ignored the needs of our neighbors. Maybe we closed ourselves off from relationships with others. We need grace for a million reasons today. So today will you join me in prayer?

All:  Heavenly Father, all of us need you.  Apart from you, we are broken and lost.  Apart from you, we live without hope. But you sent Jesus to find us, to renew us, to return us to you.  Forgive us for living in fear. Help us to live as renewed people, sharing your love in all that we do.

Pastor, Because of the grace of Jesus, we are redeemed, renewed and restored.  In spirit and in truth, we are free to live as loved children of the Father. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Memory Verse

Mark 16:16 : Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Song - I'd Rather Have Jesus

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land,
Yes, I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand.

Than to be the king of a vast domain
And be held in sin's dread sway
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than world applause,
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,
I'd rather be true to His holy name.

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs.
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead

Scripture

Matthew 6:25-34 English Standard Version (ESV)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
