NEW MEMBER CLASS: 

The next membership class will start Sunday, November 4th immediately following Sunday service at 10:15am in room 326 at Cienega High School. The class will continue for three more sessions on November 18, 25 and December 2. Pastor Hook will be leading this class and can answer any questions you may have.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The children of Christ Lutheran Vail will present their Christmas Program Dec. 9th during the regular Sunday Service time. The first practice/organizational meeting will be in the Choir room on Sunday, Oct. 28 after service at 10:15am instead of Sunday School. If you would like your child to participate in this year’s program please plan on attending with your child to get more information. QUITING MINISTRY SALE

The ladies of CLV’s Quilting Ministry will be having a holiday sale, Sunday October 28 at the regular Sunday Worship Service. Items for purchase will include quilted baby blankets, table runners and center pieces, microwave cooking bags, casserole carriers, pillows, hood scarves, and many other items. The proceeds from the sales on at church will go towards the playground at our new building site. This is a perfect opportunity to start (or finish) your Christmas shopping.

DAVE ANDERSON & KELLY PATTEN

will be at Christ Lutheran Vail 9:00 AM Sunday, October 21 for a morning of praise and worship. The worship includes Gospel Music, Old-time Sunday School songs, contemporary Christian music and stories of God's grace and mercy. You'll remember "The Rescue Story" that was shared when Dave and Barb Anderson came a few years ago. There will be a free-will offering that morning to benefit the Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, which provides rest and renewal to church workers.

PICTURE DAY

Get your smiles ready for our Second Annual Family Picture Day, Sunday, October 21. The goal is to put pictures of all the people attending CLV into the Photo Album. This album is kept at the back of the church each Sunday for people to browse through to learn everyone’s names. We are missing a number of people, and also need to update a number of families. There will be a special backdrop for this day. If you or your entire family are not available on this day, you will have another opportunity Sunday, Dec. 9th. Or Neva would be delighted to take your picture any Sunday at the back of the church.

KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY

You can participate with The Kairos Prison Ministry Team by providing cookies for a planned ministry weekend at the Red Rock Correctional Facility. CLV has been asked to provide 125 ziplock bags (no plastic sliders) containing a dozen cookies each. Details (including recommended recipes) can be found at the Welcome table on your way out of Church. Cookies can be delivered each Sunday up to and including 10/28. Our church has also been asked to participate in the Kairos prison ministry prayer vigil. It would involve selecting a 30-minute time slot at some point during November 1-4th and praying for the prison ministry in your own home. It is a powerful statement to the prisoners to see that people that do not know them care enough to pray for them.
